Fashion Revolution 2018
Looking back on a week full of emotions!
From April 23rd to 29th, the 5th edition of the Fashion Revolution took place, this now international initiative to demand greater transparency from fashion brands.
At JULES & JENN , we are of course 100% in agreement with this movement! And for us, transparency is our daily life as a fashion brand from January 1st to December 31st!
It is therefore with immense joy that we took full part in this 2018 edition of Fashion Revolution France.
On April 24, 2018, exactly five years after the Rana Plaza tragedy, our March along the Parisian canals allowed us to commemorate the 1,135 textile workers who died in the collapse of the building in which they worked.
Dressed in blue, like their work clothes, the aim of this March was to raise awareness and share the pitfalls of an industry that can lead to real human catastrophes.
On April 25, as part of an evening organized by the ethical fashion platform Sloweare, our co-founder, Jennifer, participated in the conference debate on the emergence of more ethical fashion.
Alongside other founders of responsible brands and consumers of ethical fashion, the participants detailed their journey towards more ethical fashion.
This was followed by a discussion, in complete transparency, on the pitfalls encountered by young responsible fashion brands and a very inspiring conclusion on the hopes of consumers, in search of more brands based on values similar to ours 🙂
And throughout the week, other demonstrations took place, with the aim of promoting this civic approach and making the situation of workers in the fast fashion industry known to as many people as possible around the world.
Many profiles have mobilized: individuals, associations, companies of all sizes, with the same objective and in a warm atmosphere.
In short, it was a great time, despite the sadness of the triggering event.
In one word, BRAVO and see you next year!
