Fashion Revolution 2019

Fashion Revolution Week will be held from April 22nd to 29th, 2019. JULES & JENN supports and is part of this movement that advocates ethics and transparency in the textile industry. We'll explain why...

How the Fashion Revolution was born
On April 24, 2013, in Dhaka, Bangladesh, a true catastrophe occurred. The Rana Plaza, a building housing the manufacturing facilities of numerous clothing brand subcontractors, collapsed. This tragedy left behind a sad and heavy toll, amounting to 1,130 deaths and no fewer than 2,500 injured.
This historic event shook the world of the textile industry, raising awareness of the unacceptable working conditions in garment factories, similar to those at Rana Plaza. It was one year after the tragedy that Carrie Somers, creator of the Pachacuti brand, initiated and launched the concept of the Fashion Revolution .
What is the Fashion Revolution?
Every year for the past six years, the Fashion Revolution has resonated in more than 100 countries during the week of April 24, the anniversary of the Rana Plaza collapse. The Fashion Revolution's key words are transparency and ethics.
The fundamental goal of this movement is to make consumers aware that they have a strong voice and that they are able to make themselves heard. Together, they are capable of changing questionable practices: they have a say not only on the conditions in which the clothes and accessories they buy are produced, but also on their provenance. The hashtag #WhoMadeMyClothes, demanding real transparency from brands, was then born. This hashtag made it possible to challenge textile companies about their production locations and methods, pushing them to adopt more ethical practices, respecting people and the environment.
In order to respond to this collective call, brands also have a fundamental role to play in the Fashion Revolution.

Why is JULES & JENN taking part in the Fashion Revolution?
At JULES & JENN, transparency about our production sites and methods is at the heart of our approach. We reveal the behind-the-scenes of all our manufacturing workshops, which are located in France and in France's neighboring countries, Italy, Portugal, and Spain. We systematically share the origin of our materials and details of our manufacturing costs and margins. Our transparency serves consumers, allowing them to make informed choices about the products they purchase.
So, like last year for Fashion Revolution 2018 , we are once again taking part in the Fashion Revolution movement this year.
