NO to Black Friday!

What is Black Friday?
Since the 1960s, Black Friday has been established in the United States every Friday directly following Thanksgiving. Initially, the term "Black Friday" referred to the period when stores hoped to "get out of the red" and return to a positive balance, written in black ink.
The principle of this day, so popular with Americans? A day of huge discounts, giving rise to veritable human tides and a fierce commercial battle between the brands.

In several US states, the day is a holiday, and some companies even give their employees the day off, allowing them to shop as they please. It's often a busy time, and Black Friday can turn tragic. In 2008, for example, a man opening the doors of a Walmart supermarket in New York State was crushed by the delirious crowd as they rushed to buy the deals.

What is Green Friday?

Green Friday is a movement created to raise awareness of the excesses of increasingly unresponsible consumption. The goal isn't to make consumers feel guilty, but to empower them by appealing to their free will as consumers.
Companies participating in the campaign will not offer discounts to their customers on Black Friday, but will instead commit to donating 15% of their daily sales to the charity of their choice that promotes responsible consumption.
Why is JULES & JENN joining Green Friday?
Because, at JULES & JENN, by offering slow fashion, sustainable products through their quality and their style, we work every day for more responsible consumption.
Because at JULES & JENN, by banning sales and promotions, we fight against overconsumption all year round.
Because, at JULES & JENN, by knowing exactly how, by whom and under what conditions our products are made, we produce fashion as locally as possible that respects its artisans and our environment.
In short, in line with our values, we are proud to join this young Green Friday movement. We want to demonstrate that there is a way to consume more responsibly, through our products, but also through our commitments.
On November 23rd, as all year round, our prices will remain the same, and we will donate 15% of the day's turnover to the Collectif Ethique Sur L'Etiquette association, which also fights for more responsible fashion.

The Ethics Collective on the Label

Founded in 1995 and a member of the European Clean Clothes Campaign network, the Collectif Éthique Sur l'Etiquette works to promote respect for human rights at work in the fashion industry and consumers' right to information on the social quality of their purchases.
Since its creation, the ESE Collective has asked companies present in France and major French and international brands to ensure the production conditions of the goods they sell and to guarantee that their purchasing practices promote social progress among their suppliers and subcontractors.
He leads public awareness campaigns and calls on companies to take measures to ensure respect for human rights at work throughout their production chains. He fights for the emergence of transparent and responsible fashion.
