What is pre-order?
Pre-ordering is a system that allows you to place an order for an item that isn't yet available because it hasn't even been made yet. This allows the customer to reserve the product they want before it's even available for sale, and the craftsperson to only make what will be purchased.
This practice, which may seem logical, is nevertheless revolutionary in an era where the race for immediate consumption has never been so strong: it allows us to offer an ethical alternative, where the act of buying becomes a considered act thanks to which we acquire a piece at the fairest price on the one hand, and without overproduction and overstock on the other.
Why pre-order?
To consume less, but better.
In a society where we are used to having what we want immediately, pre-ordering allows us to consider the act of buying differently: by buying an item in pre-order, I choose a product that I really like, for which I am willing to wait a little.
Therefore, pre-ordering goes against the frenetic pace of our current consumption and makes it possible to clearly differentiate between impulse purchases and lasting favorites: a win-win for both the wallet and the planet.
To pay for my accessory at the right price.
In order to make the quality of French and European craftsmanship accessible at the fairest price. This implies great rigor in our spending.
In this sense, since pre-orders help avoid unnecessary inventory, they lead to savings on all costs associated with potential overstock (transport, storage, handling). They therefore contribute to the establishment of our fair price.
To avoid overstock and unsold items.
Knowing the number of orders placed before production allows us to produce the exact quantities of items, avoiding unsold items and therefore stocks of dormant products on shelves.
This allows us to assess as accurately as possible the quantities of resources (raw materials, energy, etc.) needed for production and thus avoid all kinds of waste, which we have been fighting against since our beginnings.
Despite everything, we sometimes find ourselves with only a few sizes of a model that we are not renewing: these are the last pieces. In order to avoid these items remaining on our shelves, we have launched the End-of-Series Solidarity sales in partnership with the Mode Estime integration workshop since 2019! The principle is simple: -30% discount for you and a donation to the association for each pair sold.
Why do I have to pay right away for an item that I will receive later?
To ensure that pre-orders reflect reality, we want to be sure of customer commitment: this is why payment is made directly upon ordering.
