However, these seemingly harmless actions aren't necessarily in line with protecting our environment. At JULES & JENN, as a committed brand but also as consumers, we question the meaning of our purchases every day and like to share tips to avoid falling into the trap of overconsumption or greenwashing.
Luckily, in recent years, many platforms, particularly French ones, have been created to guide us towards more ethical choices. Here is our homemade (non-exhaustive) selection of 5 100% French sites or applications , which will help you combine responsible consumption and pleasure purchases.
Greengo
Discover picturesque places throughout France and prioritize travel with a low environmental impact—it's possible! In 2021, four young entrepreneurs decided to create the GreenGo website, a new ethical, responsible, and French Airbnb, to inspire you to travel less far, and better. The initial observation? As its name suggests, Le Site du Made in France is THE search engine that lists the best products made in France for you. It's the result of a bet won only 1 year ago by 3 friends: Yann, Xavier and Olivier, who wanted to use their expertise in digital marketing to have a positive impact on society and the environment. From clothing & accessories to household appliances, garden furniture, jewelry, toys or bedding, the site offers you an impressive catalog of items that continues to grow! More than 600 brands (including JULES & JENN) are listed there, and you simply make your purchase on the manufacturer's website. Dream Act
In the same spirit, but in an e-shop version, Dream Act lists and delivers the best of responsible consumption. In 2016, driven by their desire for a more ethical and ecological world, Diane Scemama and Claire Chouraqui decided to create Dream Act, to move from utopia to action. Their goal was to democratize responsible consumption, so that it becomes the norm and no longer the exception! Dream Act is a marketplace aimed at the general public, listing ethical and ecological products from social entrepreneurs. It also has a B2B sales activity for eco-responsible promotional items. The products are carefully selected for their quality and their social and environmental impact. The platform offers a wide selection of creations in all areas: clothing, beauty, groceries, furniture. Its added bonus? It's also a place to learn more and understand the behind-the-scenes manufacturing processes of each of our purchases. Every year, tens of millions of tons of food are wasted in France. If we were to compare food waste to a country, it would be the 3rd largest polluter in the world! It was by realizing this in 2014 that Jean Moreau and Baptiste Corval decided to create Phenix: a win-win application that allows unsold food from local businesses to be avoided. Customers wishing to save a meal and save money are put in touch with these merchants who prepare "surprise baskets" for them. Delicious meals at reduced prices that contribute to the fight against waste, we say YES! Easy to use, simply choose a basket from a merchant located near you, pick it up at the given time and... enjoy your meal!

Our latest favorite in our selection of the 5 perfect French apps and sites for consuming better! Frigo Magic is the delicious idea of Christophe Boisselier, restaurateur and creator of several restaurants, who improvised a dish in 2010 (during an aperitif with friends) with leftovers from the cupboards. When the guests exclaimed "It's magic! You can make something nice in 15 minutes," the concept was served. From there, in 2015, a recipe app was born like no other, which creates your meals with the ingredients you already have in your fridge!
