Welcome to Nahia: the JULES & JENN x Atelier Tuffery denim espadrille!
Do you like our espadrilles? You'll love our new project... We are pleased to announce our unique collaboration with the historic French jeans manufacturer Atelier Tuffery to create an exclusive, limited-edition version of our first French espadrille... in denim! Our challenge will be yours: to revisit this iconic piece from the South of France, respecting the values of heritage, sustainability, and eco-responsibility that are dear to both our brands.

Designing a new, more sustainable espadrille is great. Doing it with you is even better! That's why we recently selected, following a casting, four "budding stylists" to co-create the espadrille of your dreams with our teams. Yves, Solange, Mathieu, and Aurélie have become the stylists and ambassadors of this unique project!
The verdict has come, and we are proud to present to you today their sustainable and responsible choices for this espadrille, which will be traditionally designed in the southwest of France. Indeed, we have chosen, with Atelier Tuffery, to have this unique piece made in Mauléon, the espadrille capital, in a small Basque family workshop where traditional know-how is passed down from generation to generation!
Ready to discover our espadrille, halfway between eco-design and tradition?
First, our stylists agreed on the choice of a unique, local and natural canvas: a 100% Hemp twill woven by Tissages d'Autan in the Tarn. Indeed, hemp was unanimously chosen because traditionally it is the main component of the espadrille but also because it aligns with our eco-design approach: it is an ecological fiber that does not consume irrigation water, no chemical inputs or pesticides and which also has significant robustness qualities.
Then, they agreed on the design of the back yoke: it will be beige with red stitching to subtly recall the colors of made in France! The edge thread will be red, to bring pep to this great summer classic and brighten up this slightly mottled eco-responsible canvas. The inner edging will be navy blue for a guaranteed tone-on-tone effect! Finally, the key detail of our espadrille will be the presence of a decorative rivet, to recall the "jean" spirit that we love so much!

With our budding stylists having made their choices, we revealed the prototype of our future denim espadrille. However, there was one last thing missing before its launch: a name! To involve our community in this unique collaboration, we recently asked you to vote for your favorite name on our social media.
You've chosen it, our espadrille is called NAHIA!
Nahia is a Basque name meaning "desired" and embodies strong values such as family, ethics, and balance. First of all, our espadrille is made in a family workshop in Mauléon, the historic espadrille capital of the Basque Country. Furthermore, the values conveyed by the name Nahia perfectly echo our shared values with Atelier Tuffery. Naming our denim espadrille Nahia therefore makes perfect sense...
