Basketball: The timeless essential!

Everything you need to know about the essential basketball shoe!
Rubber, discovered in the 15th century, is an essential element that enabled the creation of the famous sneaker , a shoe model known for its quiet and grippy feel thanks to this remarkable material used in its sole. The first athletic shoe appeared in 1868, created by the American company Candde Manufacturing in New Haven.
Sneakers, considered primarily athletic shoes , were once reserved for athletes, and more specifically basketball players: they offered greater comfort and reduced foot perspiration thanks to their rubber soles. The famous Converse, for example, was created in 1908 in Massachusetts and was also designed for basketball players. Its creator initially launched it to protect ankles with its high-top design. The photo below shows Converse sneakers dating from 1918, which closely resemble today's models.
During the 20th century, brands such as New Balance and Spring Court, the French company that invented the tennis shoe, emerged. Puma and Adidas were founded in 1948 and 1949 respectively by brothers Adolf and Rudolf Dassier. Nike, created in 1972, revolutionized the world of sneakers by inventing the air-cushioned shoe, the famous "Nike Air."
It was from this point that sneakers began to be worn by everyone, not just athletes: the urban sneaker is called the sneaker . Today, it is an essential fashion accessory for both men and women.
