RRR: Repair, Reuse, Recycle

Driven by the textile and footwear industry, JULES & JENN is joining forces with other brands in the RRR campaign to promote the repair and 2nd life of textiles and shoes.

Why this campaign and this commitment?

Each year, more than 100 billion garments are sold worldwide and 2.1 billion tons of textile waste are produced.

In France, the amount of waste has doubled in 40 years, with a production of 324.5 million tonnes: we buy more and more products, more and more frequently.

Waste reduction is one of the objectives included in the circular economy roadmap (FREC). Whether produced by households, artisans, traders, businesses or local authorities, waste reduction represents a major challenge, both in terms of environmental and health impacts and for the preservation of natural resources.

From Friday 2nd to Sunday 10th October 2020, let's join forces and give our products a new life in order to reduce this waste!

Let's fix it

Common misconception
: "A broken shoelace = a ruined pair of shoes." Really? Just replace it with another shoelace and you're good to go in 5 minutes! You save yourself the cost of a new pair of shoes and do your bit for the planet.

Key figure
: 91% of French people repair and alter their textiles and shoes.

And JULES & JENN
? Since our launch, we've been committed to offering you durable products. However, to ensure these products last for years, proper care and maintenance are essential. That's why we've prepared a care guide for each type of leather, to help you keep your shoes and leather goods looking their best.

Let's reuse

Common misconception: "Are clothes or shoes from thrift stores dirty, ripped, or stained?" Really? Surprising when you think about all the stylish looks you see on the streets! And as a bonus, it's a cheaper solution and it makes you unique.

Key figure : 44% of French people bought second-hand clothes in 2019.

And JULES & JENN ? Our products used during photoshoots, our prototypes or products that have a micro-defect... there's no way we're throwing them away! For a year now, we've been working with the Oxfam Dressing Association, to whom we donate all these products in order to prevent them from ending up in the trash and to make people happy.

Let's recycle

Common misconception: "I throw away all my torn or damaged textiles and shoes." Really? No, all textiles and shoes can have a second life if they are taken to collection points. In good condition, they will be reused; worn or torn, they will be recycled!

Key figure : With over 46,000 collection points in France, 99.5% of donated items will have a second life! Find the nearest collection point to you on the Re_Fashion website.

And JULES & JENN ? We consider the final recycling of our products right from the design stage. Indeed, the most difficult aspect of recycling is the need to separate the materials before they can be processed. That's why we prioritize designs that use as few different materials as possible.
