The sandal-making workshop, Italy (Pisa)
It is in the heart of Tuscany, in the traditional cradle of Italian leather, that we discovered our leather sandal workshop. This family workshop of a handful of artisans is dedicated solely to the design of this quality of natural leather sandals, characteristic of the region. Compared to other workshops that make this type of sandal, our partner has developed, over the years, a unique experience resulting in an unparalleled depth of color and a characteristic patina. The workshop itself takes care of dyeing each piece of leather of each sandal in the mass, then patinates them one by one manually.
Here, the word family takes on its full dimension since it is as a couple, and with their daughter, that the owners have been making quality sandals for 25 years!

The workshop and JULES & JENN
Going to Pisa is a pleasure in itself, so going to work in this small workshop on a regular basis remains a very pleasant moment.
Always available to explain their work and share their expertise with us, the few artisans in this workshop simply have their hearts on their sleeves. Working in a still very artisanal way, production planning and computers have no place here. Only the love of a job well done and the meticulous repetition of tasks ensure the quality and impeccable finish of the sandals they create.
For them, transparency is a given, and they're delighted to reveal their expertise, even if the little manufacturing secrets weren't photographed. Together, we offer a wide range of sandals that perfectly illustrate our JULES & JENN responsible fashion credo: timeless style, comfort, and a fair price.

Shoe making
Based on the drawing, the pattern maker creates the pattern for the different pieces of leather that will make up the sandal. Using punches, the cutter cuts out, manually or with a press, the different parts of the model in the chosen material. The pieces must be carefully cut to avoid natural defects in the leather. Once cut, each piece is individually dyed so that the edges of each piece are uniform in color. The pieces are then patinated by hand individually. Then, all the pieces making up the upper are mounted on a mold, varying according to the size, in order to be attached to the inner sole, which is also the insole. The pieces are glued and attached before drying. Finally, the leather outsole is attached by glue and sanded to achieve a perfect effect. After a final drying time, the assembly of the body of the shoe is complete. The mold is then removed from the sandal. Finally, the sandal is pampered to ensure an impeccable finish. Wrapped in tissue paper, the shoe is delicately placed in its JULES & JENN box. All that's left is to slip your feet inside...
