Immediate boarding for Italy!
As you may have noticed, until now we produced our timeless pieces in 7 European workshops, located in France, Spain & Portugal. Recently, a new one has been added to the list: The workshop in Florence, Italy ! This family-run workshop, comprised of a handful of artisans, is dedicated solely to crafting traditional Tuscan flat sandals in natural supple leather. We were captivated by their exceptional craftsmanship and the meticulous attention to detail evident in each pair of our sandals: a passionate endeavor, respectful of traditional methods.
We invite you to discover all the manufacturing steps of one of our flat sandals in full-grain plongé leather!

Craftsmanship is also and above all a team effort!
Full-grain leather
Dip-dyed leather is applied in a full bath, without any additional finishing layer. No surface film prevents the leather from breathing and developing a patina; its appearance and feel remain natural and sensual. Because it requires flawless hides, full-grain leather is used.

JULES & JENN sandals are crafted with the utmost care by our artisans, according to the rules of the art.
To shed some light on this, let's take a detailed look at the steps involved in their manufacture .
Based on the drawing, the pattern maker creates the pattern for the leather pieces. Using dies, the cutter cuts out each part from the chosen material, either manually or with a press, avoiding any defects in the leather.

Next comes the dyeing: each piece is immersed in a bath, then air-dried to ensure a uniform color.
Drying of the mold-mounted sandals
Once the mold is removed, the sandal is carefully finished for an impeccable look. Instant love! Wrapped in tissue paper, it is gently placed in its JULES & JENN box.
Over the years, these artisans have developed an incomparable patina and depth of color. Their unique expertise has captivated us; we hope it will do the same for you!
The leather pieces were individually dyed by immersion in a dye bath.

The pieces are then hand-patinated. All the pieces that make up the upper are mounted on a mold, adapted to each shoe size, and then attached to the insole.
After gluing and drying, the leather outsole is attached and sanded for a perfect finish. A final drying completes the assembly.
